In great news for members, Hostplus delivered double-digit returns for the financial year across all balanced and growth options.
Members in our Balanced (MySuper) option received a return of 10.81% for the year to 30 June 2025, while members in our Indexed Balanced option received an impressive 12.02%.1
It was a bumpier ride than usual this financial year, with Trump’s tariffs rocking the markets in April. Markets rebounded strongly, though, driven by US tech companies and AI enthusiasm, and finished in positive territory.
Equity markets continued to grow, despite significant volatility, matched by strong performances from unlisted assets like infrastructure, private equity, and credit. Emerging economies performed relatively in line with developed economies. Our strategic positions in US and Chinese companies added significant value for Hostplus members.
Despite the market volatility, our resilient investment strategy shone through, highlighting the benefits of diversification, active management, and a disciplined long-term strategy.
All of Hostplus’ pre-mixed investment options delivered positive returns for accumulation members over the past 12 months.

Despite falling share markets, Hostplus’ Balanced (MySuper) option delivered a small positive return of 0.35% for the quarter, thanks in part to its diversified investment strategy.
Recent market volatility is being driven by US tariffs and escalating trade tensions, against a backdrop of inflation and geopolitical conflicts.
The challenging and volatile conditions continued into the start of the new quarter, and we recognise it can be worrying to see your super balance go down instead of up. We understand your concerns and I’d like to reassure our members that we always take the utmost care in managing your investments.
We've designed our investment approach to withstand short-term ups and downs by ultimately focusing on what's important - delivering great results for our members over the long term.
Hostplus’ other pre-mixed investment options delivered mixed returns for accumulation members over the quarter, but are all in positive territory over the past 12 months.
