Your super is designed for your retirement, so there are rules around when you can access it. These rules are known as conditions of release.
You can generally access your super if you:
- are 60 or older and have permanently retired (meaning you’ve ceased gainful employment and do not intend to become gainfully employed for 10 Hours or more per week in the future)
- are 60 or older, continue working and start a transition to retirement income stream, or
- are 65 or older, even if you’re still working or have never been employed.
